  • Zermatt is high (the ski area starts around 1,559 m). After fresh snow the last climb can be slow and chains may be required; allow extra time on the return to the airport.
  • Saturday is changeover day in most Alpine resorts, so roads and airports are at their busiest. A midweek or Sunday arrival is usually quicker.
  • Use your full accommodation address. Two chalets "in Zermatt" can be far apart, and some are only reachable on foot or by a local shuttle.
