How to Get to Zermatt: Train from Zurich & Geneva, Täsch Shuttle

The short answer

Zermatt is car-free. The train takes about 3½ hours from Zurich Airport and about 4 hours from Geneva or Basel airports, with trains every half hour. Drivers park in Täsch and take the 12-minute shuttle train, which runs every 20 minutes.

Driving: stop at Täsch

Private cars are allowed only as far as Täsch. The Täsch terminal has 2,100 covered parking spaces, and shuttle trains run to Zermatt every 20 minutes (12-minute journey). Driving into Zermatt without authorisation risks a large fine.

Zermatt has e-taxis, horse-drawn carriages and a free e-bus with two routes (Ski-Bus and Winkelmatten).
