What to know

How we decide

“At the door” means the partner describes runs practically at the front door; otherwise we show the stated distance to the nearest run. Skiing back to the door can depend on snow cover, especially lower down.

French purpose-built resorts lead

Val Thorens, Les Menuires, La Plagne, Les Arcs, Tignes and Avoriaz were built for ski-in ski-out, so apartments there are often on the piste.

Ski lockers matter too

Even slope-side buildings sometimes keep skis in a basement locker room. A heated boot room is a bonus worth checking.

The pass makes the package worth it

Swiss lift passes are expensive on their own, so a package with the pass included often saves more here than anywhere else.

Frequently asked questions

How much does a ski holiday in Switzerland cost?

In our partner data, ski-in ski-out holidays in Switzerland start at €389 per person, and half of them start below €1,024. A week with the lift pass included starts at €389 per person. Flights and transfers are extra.

What does ski-in ski-out mean?

You can ski from the accommodation to a lift or run and ski back at the end of the day, without walking or taking a bus.

Are ski-in ski-out stays more expensive?

Often, in traditional villages. In French purpose-built resorts many apartments are on the slopes anyway, so ski-in ski-out can be surprisingly affordable.

Is the lift pass included?

In most offers, yes: SnowTrex sells accommodation with a lift pass for the length of the stay. Each card says whether the pass is included in the price shown.

Who do I book with?

With SnowTrex, a European ski holiday specialist, on its German-language site snowtrex.at. Your browser can translate the pages. Book & Ski compares the offers and may earn a commission; the price is the same.
