From Tokyo, Hakuba is as little as 2 hours 50 minutes away by Hokuriku Shinkansen to Nagano and an express bus. From Nagoya it is 3 hours 34 minutes on the limited express Shinano, and from Osaka about 4 hours 47 minutes.
